Look for the Hook | Bone Hook Brewing Co.
One of the Best Craft Breweries
Southwest Florida is certainly known for its picture-perfect beaches, breathtaking sunsets, and the perfect place to get away from colder temperatures in the north during the winter months. But over the last few years, the craft beer scene has become more popular with Bone Hook Brewing Company quickly establishing itself as one of the best craft breweries in the state of Florida….and they have no signs of slowing down. In its two short years of existence, it has not only been named the best craft brewery by the readers of the Naples Daily News, but its recent expansion has increased its ability to craft more beer plus become the largest and only brewpub between Tampa and Miami.
The newly expanded brewery is ideally situated in north Naples. Its craft beers and the immersive brewery experience have guests talking. And while they don’t take themselves too seriously, they are very serious about their craft. Head Brewer Joshua Deitner has mastered his craft and his attention to detail. He not only blends the right ingredients to push the boundaries in the craft beers he produces; but he thinks outside the box, concocting new and different brews that have regulars flocking in and new craft beer drinkers asking, “what’s next”?
An idea between three friends, who believed there was a market for better craft beer, began with humble beginnings in a Naples garage. Bone Hook was born with an original tasting room that has now made way for additional tanks and the opportunity to get even more creative with their brews.
From Bone Fish Brewery’s beginning, the “Signature Six” have been the beers it pours into glasses and delights local craft drinkers. Included in that six are Dirty Dave’s IPA, Sandbar Surfer (Kolsch), Honey Hole (Hefeweizen), Sun Dive (American Pale Ale), Round & Brown (American Brown Ale), and Chocolate Putin (Russian Imperial Stout).
But what makes the brewery even more unique is their ability to offer an incredible menu of dishes that pair up with their signature beers. Working with the culinary team from Phelan Family Brands (the family-owned group behind Pinchers, Deep Lagoon Seafood, and Texas Tony’s), the menu is perfectly paired pub faire to complement their tasty brews. Each dish looks too good to eat!
Starters on the menu include tasty deviled eggs topped with fried pepper bacon, loaded tater tots that are a must try. Other savory dishes including Blue Cheese Kettle Chips and the ever-impressive Jumbo Bavarian Pretzel served warm with the very own beer pub cheese.
Of course, you can’t have great craft beer without tasty Craft Burgers. The old Faithfull Burger and the Chevelle Burger are two that stand in a class all by themselves. Each is worthy of a podium to be admired and come to the table looking like a masterpiece.
The flatbread pizzas are also a can’t miss, ranging from a classic margherita style to the smoked BBQ Chicken and Bacon. But don’t worry, they’ve got you covered if you’re looking for a hearty entrée. The Chipotle-rubbed Mahi is a “gotta’ have” recipe pulled from the pages of Deep Lagoon Seafood and keeps up the tradition of being a local favorite fish dish. You also can’t overlook the baby back ribs coming out piping hot from the grill to feast on with that pint of beer.
Plans for the expanded brewery include extended hours, live music Thursday through Sunday, and plenty of seasonal and specialty beers brewed year-round. There will also be the “brewer’s lounge” which is expected to be a hot destination for private parties and group events.
When finished, those that book the lounge will be right in the actual brewery with games, flat screen tv’s, and access to their wide array of fine-crafted beer. Guests can not only enjoy the craft beer in the brew pub but also can take home their favorite brew.
Look for the Hook
There’s no question that Bone Hook Brewing has all the wheels turning in their rustic industrial looking brew pub. And just like a great craft beer, they have all the ingredients to be extremely successful. As they say, “look for the hook” and make sure to check out southwest Florida’s only brew pub, Bone Hook Brewing Company.
