Deep Lagoon | A Must Dine Waterfront Experience
Coastal Casual Cuisine
If you want to find the perfect ingredients in creating a dining destination that encapsulates the Coastal Casual Cuisine, make a point to visit Deep Lagoon Seafood and Oyster House in Fort Myers.
Every detail inside the restaurant places you at ease, allowing you to settle in, and as they like to say, “Get Away from the Everyday”. Owner Tony Phelan has always said, “Southwest Florida is God’s greatest Dining Room”. The Phelan Family Brands team behind the new restaurant has delivered once again.
From Naples to Fort Myers
After opening the first Deep Lagoon Seafood in North Naples in 2016, the family-owned and operated restaurant knew it had a winner. Reviews and customers came from all over Southwest Florida. It became apparent that there was a demand for a true Fresh Florida Fish Market restaurant in Fort Myers. Phelan Family Brands went looking and ended up partnering with the Marine Max Dealership. The property at the corner of McGregor Blvd. and A&W Bulb Road is now the location of the brand-new restaurant. Opening its doors in June of this year, the finished product has quickly become a place for boaters looking for a waterfront dining option. The restaurant has dockage and can be easily accessed by boat.
Fresh and Local
It’s the perfect combination of mouthwatering dishes that celebrate fresh seafood, paired with postcard-esque views from a dining area set with a backdrop of dream boats and sunsets.
District Chef Nic Hartzer and his culinary team have created a kitchen that works directly from their in-house seafood market, serving up classic contemporary American seafood with an updated fusion of a fresh coastal marketplace and locally sourced ingredients. Along with fresh fish and oysters, from the best locations in the United States delivered daily to ensure the utmost in freshness, combined with a creative flair, and you get dishes that taste even better than they look.
Whether you’re looking for Gulf caught hogfish, black grouper, snapper, or jumbo shrimp and savory scallops, Deep Lagoon has it all covered. Upon review of their extensive menu, there is something for everyone. Signature dishes include the Chili Rubbed Triple Tail, Grouper Oscar, Cedar Plank Salmon, and Lobster Mac and Cheese.
Wine and Dine
It is always a great time to visit the restaurant and relax with the Lagoon Blue table tops that set the tone, along with amazing works of Florida nature art on the restaurant walls.
The happy hour is a can’t miss! It runs 11 am to 6 pm daily and is flanked by an amazing small plates menu served during the same time. Blue Crab Stuffed Potato Croquettes with an avocado and cilantro mayo are a must try, as is the Shrimp, Scallop, and Hogfish Ceviche. Small plate items are priced from $5-$8 and the menu also includes a half order of their incredible Oyster Rockefeller.
All their amazing dishes can be paired with satisfying libations. The wine list is extensive, and their knowledgeable staff will have no problem recommending a perfect wine to pair with your seafood dish. Looking to try something unique? Their Flo-rita and Key Lime martini are two signature drinks that should definitely be sipped. If craft beer is your drink to enjoy, their very own South of South Belgian Wit or FLA IPA are also worth exploring.
Best Key Lime Pie
You’ll want to make sure you save room for dessert, as the Key Lime Pie they serve is pure bliss. They own the distinction of being voted the “Best Key Lime Pie” by Naples Daily News Readers. Can’t find room for that treat when you dine? No problem, you can take home a whole pie to enjoy. If cooking your own fish and entertaining at home is more to your liking, their Seafood Market welcomes your eyes with a wide array of colorful fish as soon as you walk in the doors. Offerings vary by day, but their culinary team is always ready to help you out and send you away with the freshest fish available from their Seafood Market to enjoy.
