Pizza Fusion

CatchnKatie_webIf I had to choose one thing to eat for the rest of my life, it Image-6would definitely be pizza. Ever since I can remember, I’ve been a pizza lover and connoisseur. This week I had the pleasure of visiting Pizza Fusion in Naples. I loved being able to sit and talk with one of the owners, Rose Thompson.

Rose grew up in the restaurant business. Pizza has literally been in her life since she was born. Her parents owned pizzerias in Michigan, Georgia and Florida. She started working in the restaurant business at 15 years old. Image-4She’s held every position imaginable! Rose started as a bus-girl, dish washer, host, server, bartender, manager and now owner!

Rose never imagined owning her own pizza restaurant. She moved to Florida when she was 20 years old. She told me a story of when her dad came down around that time to look for empty spaces, and she asked “For what, dad?” He said, “For you to open your own pizza place, of course!” And what do you know, 8 years later Rose and her husband did just that! After a trip to a Pizza Fusion in Ft Lauderdale, the couple decided in 2009 to open their first franchise in Fort Myers. Four years later, in 2013, they expanded with a second location in Naples.

Image If you didn’t know, Pizza Fusion uses mostly organic ingredients to make their delicious and all natural pizzas, sandwiches, salads and so much more. Pizza Fusion likes to keep their menu as simple as possible. All of their ingredients are fresh, never frozen and do not come from a can. You can taste the Image-1freshness of the ingredients in every bite. First, I ordered the Roasted Beet and Feta Salad, which has arugula, romaine lettuce, pickled red onions, walnuts, roasted beets with feta on top…yum! Of course I had to have a pizza while I was there! I ordered the Pear and Gorgonzola personal pizza. If you love a salty and sweet combination like I do, you have to try this one. When ordering a pizza, you can choose from white, multi-grain or gluten free crust! I decided to try something new and ordered the multi-grain crust, I was not disappointed.
