Like most Southwest Florida residents, I am a transplant – originally from New England, but have been living in the area for over 30 years. Although I miss the change of seasons, I am thankful for the warm sunshine in the winter. We truly live in paradise, don’t we?
Prior to creating livinglocal, I had a flourishing career in the Real Estate market until the 2006 economic crash. For those that experienced it, it is something we will never forget. Although it was a difficult time for many, this was a critical turning point for me; when my entrepreneurial spirit took hold and I discovered my real passion – PEOPLE. Although I have always loved helping and promoting individuals, I didn’t realize it could lead the way to a new career path until that moment.
Over the years, I have found that people love to know the individuals and organizations they do business with and want to hear their stories – because every business has a story! Through the evolution of livinglocal, we have been able to connect 100,000+ residents and visitors with local, reputable businesses every month.
As a company, we are also committed to giving back and leaving a mark on Southwest Florida. Nonprofits have always had a special place in my heart, especially those that are reaching the needs of the less fortunate in our community. With the desire to give back in a tangible way, we began the initiative, “For A Greater Cause”. Every month, we select a local nonprofit organization that is making a difference in the community. Along with a feature article in the magazine, a monetary donation is given on behalf of livinglocal and its advertising partners.
